In this picture I used a large depth of field to keep all of the objects in focus. Compositionally the image shows a conceptual pattern and there are "leading lines" in a sense because your eye travels through the hierarchy. The aim of this picture was to create a hierarchy using objects found around the room. The animals are the most inferior objects in the picture, followed by the person, then the king, then one of the celestial bodies and finally the all encompassing time. It highlights how insignificant humans relative to the size of the universe. Also, I used a light to illuminate the objects in the picture.

Oppositely from the previous picture, I utilized a shallow depth of field in this image, putting only the closest books in focus. I also used the normal settings on the camera to take this photo. The books being stood up vertically also creates an interesting pattern and their straight edges makes line apparent in the picture. I think there is an interesting point of view in the picture because I took it so close to the book shelf, so you can see down the whole aisle. While there is no specific meaning behind the photograph, it does put in focus Jack London's "Call of the Wild" which I highly reccomend.

- used red light on the right side to highlight his face and torso.
- He appears to be lost in thought in the picture, and to capture this I stood to the left so he wouldn't be looking directly into the camera. - thoughtful and inquisitive -adjusted the levels to make a smooth gradient of lights and darks. |
- High shutter speed to freeze objects in motion - Ping pong balls are in the foreground, the student is in the middle ground, and the grey background contrasts with the white ping pong balls. - The image was cropped but clearly not enough considering there is the yellow wall at the top of the picture and other stuff to the right. - Looks surprised, kind of a fun whimsical picture. |
