Approximately what shutter speed did you use to purposely blur action? the shoe I picked for my picture was taken at 1/15 of a second What ISO and WB settings did you use? 800 ISO (If you were on a phone camera, make a logical guess) What motion, or part of the image shows blur? (Describe). The shoe in the picture is very blurred because I threw it in the air and captured it as it came down What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? I wasabout 8 inches away from the shoe when I took the picture Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, repetition, contrast... the emphasis in the photo is the most apparent compositional element because the shoe is the only blurred piece of the image. Also since the photo is in black and white there is positive and negative space.
Approximately what shutter speed did you use to freeze action? 1/200 of a second What ISO and WB settings did you use? 800 ISO (If you were on a phone camera, make a logical guess) What action did you freeze? (Describe). I froze Liam jumping What was your distance, and point of view for the photo? I was about 5 feet away from him Describe any compositional elements (tools) that are present in or that strengthen the photo.(rule of thirds, positive and negative space, line, shape, pattern, texture, strong colors, repetition, contrast...) The picture shoes the rule of thirds because Liam is the middle third and on either side of him are the other thirds to the picture.
Painting with Light
Describe one of your photos from painting with light. What shutter speed did you have the camera on? What light source did you use to create the painting? How did you achieve the image/effect? What impact does the photo have? How would the viewer feel looking at your photo?
Aperture
Select one of your images that show a shallow depth of field. The picture where the horse is the only item in focus has a shallow depth of field. What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a shallow depth of field? f-4 What ISO and WB settings did you use? 1600 ISO, auto color.
Discuss one of your images that show a large depth of field. The picture of the moon, clock, animals, and card has a large depth of field. What f-stop did you have your camera set to create a large depth of field? f-11 What ISO and WB settings did you use? 1600 ISO, auto color.
Which photo is better? Why? The photo with the large depth of field is better because the color is extremely balanced and the glare coming off the clock makes a nice, but not overpowering effect. Why would you want to use a shallow depth of field? To focus on a specific object such as a bee in a flower, where it might look good to blur out the surrounding shrubbery. When/in what situation would a large depth of field be better? When you are trying to capture multiple objects or a landscape that have cohesive or unifying qualities.
